Pregnancy resource centers in Austin are under attack

Pregnancy resource centers in Austin are under attack.
With the reported leak of an opinion draft in the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization—a court opinion that would overturn the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion and return any decision on the protection of the unborn to the states, abortion advocates have been in an uproar.
Unsurprisingly, the pro-abortion uproar is increasing in scale and violence…and the the Supreme Court has not even issued its decision yet!
Last night, protesters took to the streets of Austin, Texas, and targeted pro-life organizations, posting about their actions on social media. Below is a tweet from one pro-abortion group that vandalized Trotter House, a local pregnancy resource center that is also home to Central Texas Coalition for Life.
Amid these disturbances, JPII Life Center issued a notice that it will continue to enact security measures to ensure the safety of their staff and clients.
“Until there is an official release [of the Supreme Court decision], every person who believes in the dignity of the human person and the protection of pre-born human life should continue to pray for our Supreme Court justices and the official overturning of Roe v. Wade,” said Tim Von Dohlen, a long-time Catholic Business Journal columnist and Board President and Co-Founder of the JPII Life Center .
If Roe is overturned, a law passed by the Texas Legislature in 2021 would go into effect. This law, known as the Human Life Protection Act, would completely abolish abortion in the state of Texas.
What does this mean for women in Texas? What does this mean for the pro-life movement in that state?
Pregnancy resource centers like the JPII Life Center are at the frontlines of this pivotal moment in history. With abortion no longer a legal option, more and more women will seek out the services of JPII and Vitae Clinic. Women in Central Texas will need to know they have not been abandoned. From the moment they fear they might be pregnant; they have a loving community ready to help them. Free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, material assistance, and high-quality medical care are only one call away.
The same is true in every pregnancy center across the United States.
Almost 50 years of legal abortion have resulted in a culture of confusion and misinformation.
Education is critical to understanding and making informed decisions regarding the dignity and respect owed to all human beings, including the smallest ones.  Whereas this education is being severely hampered and threatened in chilling, newly proposed legislation currently whipping through the state legislature in a state such as California, the opposite is true in Texas.
Austin-based JPII and Vitae Clinic has developed a new, engaging and powerful, science-backed, visually evident interactive educational program called A Glimpse Inside™️ that is already inspiring the minds of young people in Texas and across the nation to recognize the value of our brothers and sisters in the womb.
