In scouring reports of the shocking, heart-wrenching murder of Los Angeles Archdiocese’s Auxiliary Bishop David (“Dave”) O’Connell, 69, a native of Ireland who had served as a priest for 45 years, we found the most accurate and focused report to be the news briefing led by Los Angeles Sheriff Robert Luna on February 20, 2023. The briefing followed the dramatic arrest of primary suspect Carlos Media, husband of O’Connell’s housekeeper in the early hours of the 20th.
