Column: The Catholic Investor
Catholic investing principles and where you invest your dollars does matter. It does make a difference, in so many ways. Here is the single most important factor, innocent human life.
Today is January 23rd and the March for Life is ongoing in Washington D.C. Despite Roe v. Wade being overturned, the issue of abortion continues to divide the country. Which seems incredible when you look at a baby.

I don’t think anyone could deny that the baby pictured to the right is a human being .
Nor do I believe that anyone, in honesty, could deny that the change in that baby from one minute before birth to one minute after was accompanied by a change from non-human status to human.
Wind the clock back further and there is no plausible time post-conception and pre-birth that any human baby was anything but human. Needless to say, murdering a human being is both immoral (see the Ten Commandments) and illegal.
But here we are, and in the United States, the death toll from abortion exceeds 65 million.
To put that “more than 65 million aborted babies” number in perspective, consider that the well-documented murderous atrocities of three notorious dictators— Pol Pot (Cambodia), Hitler and Stalin — as horrendous as they are — did not total 65 MILLION deaths.
But it gets worse. Worldwide, data from the World Health Organization provides an estimated 73 million abortions each year.
Pray for an end to the killing of unborn innocents.
And don’t invest in companies that are part of the abortion industry.
