Matthia Langone

Matthia Langone, D. Min., is a Vancouver-based artist and iconographer whose work has been exhibited in Canada, Rome, Portugal, and in private collections. She also serves as a Pastoral Animator on the University of British Columbia (UBC) Vancouver campus and has designed a college course in iconography, gives lectures, workshops and retreats that highlight understanding what she refers to as "the way of the icon" and its application to our daily lives.

Matthia studied iconography, focusing on Russian Byzantine iconography, with Vladislav Andrejev, a Russian Master of Iconography. Her research includes two visits to churches in and near Moscow where the beauty and mystery of the icons took her breath away and changed the course of her life.

She received her B.A. from Boston College and Thomas Aquinas College; her Master's degree in Theological Studies from Regent College; and her Doctor of Ministry degree from the prestigious Vancouver School of Theology. Other studies include the Prosopon School of Iconology, the Vancouver Academy of Art and the Angel Art Academy in Florence, Italy.
