Dick Lyles


Richard I. “Dick” Lyles is CEO of Origin Entertainment, a Hollywood film production company, to which he brings not only leadership, but also extensive expertise in business, strategy, finance and marketing. He is a founding board member of Hollywood-based Act One, Inc., and has served as the lead faculty member for its Executive Program. A life-long serious Catholic, he served for eight years as the popular radio host of “The Catholic Business Hour,” focusing on careers and business with a Catholic perspective—a radio show founded and produced weekly by the Catholic Business Journal and aired on the EWTN Global Catholic Network. Mr. Lyles’ business expertise and savvy has been honed over the course of more than 35 years as an operations, management, profitability and turn-around consultant to large and small corporations nationally and internationally. His clients have included Fortune 100 and 500 companies in the U.S. and overseas. In addition, he’s authored or co-authored nine books that have been published in more than 40 languages, including a national best-seller, Winning Ways. During his three-year tenure as president of The Ken Blanchard Companies, he took the company from $20M to $42M in annual revenues while increasing profitability and expanding the company’s global reach. He has served successfully as CEO of several other companies including a strategic management consulting company and a thirty-three station radio network based in the Midwest. Dick and his wife, Martha, together founded Maric College (now sold and renamed Kaplan College) in San Diego. They completed a book together entitled, "Answer Your Call: Reclaiming God's Purpose for Faith, Family and Work" (Servant Books/Franciscan Media). Dick graduated with a Ph.D. in Business Administration from California Western University, an M.A. in Human Behavior/Organization Psychology, from USIU in San Diego, and a B.S. in Engineering/Naval Science, with a minor in Political Science, from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and served with honor in Vietnam.
