The TRUTH About Natural Procreative Technology – NaProTECHNOLOGY

October 6, 2015

We must all pray for the success of the World Conference on the Family this September and the Synod on the Family following in October.  Pope Francis is optimistic about the work to be done and recommendations that will be made to him.  Pope Francis will make the decision on any outcomes of the Synod.  Pope Francis is particularly concerned about “stress” on the family.

Father Jack Wall of Catholic Extension, at a recent luncheon, spoke about a recent poll of Catholics in the United States on what elements of Catholicism are believed in most. The poll results were:

  1. the Resurrection
  2. the Eucharist
  3. Mary
  4. The presence of Christ in the poor

These results are not too surprising, but there are other basic truths of the Catholic faith that one must accept if one is truly Catholic.  We cannot be cafeteria Catholics picking and choosing what we want to believe.

We have been blessed at the St. John Paul II Life Center in Austin, Texas to save nearly 300 babies from abortion, and through the Vitae Clinic and the work of Dr. Jeremy Kalamarides Ob/Gyn to assist more than 30 women each believed to be infertile, each of whom now have a healthy child.  This happened naturally through the use of Natural Procreative Technology (NaProTECHNOLOGY).

When you love someone you want the best for her or him.  Why is this medical science of NaProTECHNOLOGY kept such a secret when its efficacy has been proven?

Pope Francis speaks of the woman-man relationship in his first Encyclical The Joy of the Gospel.  Following we will explore the benefits of NaProTECHNOLOGY to married couples.  Hopefully, the Catholic Church will start to place a greater emphasis on the importance of NaProTECHNOLOGY.  This information has been developed in conjunction with Dr. Thomas Hilgers, Ob/Gyn, Director of the Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha, Nebraska and developer of NaProTECHNOLOGY.

Societal problems around human sexuality are at the heart of eroding the traditional family.  Loss of a man’s respect for his wife, a husband’s demand for sexual satisfaction at any time, a general failure to recognize the beauty of female fertility, and inadequate recognition of the dignity of each woman are each causes for stress within marriage, often leading to divorce or fallen away Catholics.

Natural Procreative Technology (NaProTECHNOLOGY) offers a solution that unites proven medical knowledge and Catholic teachings to support healthy family relationships in the modern world. NaProTECHNOLOGY, a combination of medical and surgical treatments, brings couples together, energizes marriages, and creates true partnerships that recognize a woman’s dignity—all in a Catholic context.

NaProTECHNOLOGY offers a treatment for a variety of hormonal and reproductive issues in women of reproductive age, including the ability to avoid or achieve conception. NaProTECHNOLOGY consists of medical and surgical treatments that cooperate with the menstrual and fertility cycles to successfully treat a variety of women’s health conditions that are currently being treated by destructive or suppressive means (in vitro fertilization, birth control pills, etc.). It is the first women’s health science to be developed that is completely consistent with Catholic teaching.

NaProTECHNOLOGY is a medical science—not just another natural family planning method. NaProTECHNOLOGY combines clinical education about the reproductive system with advanced hormonal evaluation, the diagnosis of organic diseases such as endometriosis, polycystic ovaries and pelvic adhesions, and their subsequent surgical treatment. It includes laser modalities, robotic surgeries, advanced hormonal therapies, etc., to achieve therapeutic and often curative results, addressing the underlying cause of abnormality. It allows a woman to easily and objectively monitor several different biological markers. It is more than just another natural family planning method.

With NaProTECHNOLOGY, one can either achieve or avoid pregnancy.
NaProTECHNOLOGY has a very high success rate in the avoidance of pregnancy and identifies the ideal times of fertility. Unlike in vitro fertilization (IVF), which is highly abortive, NaProTECHNOLOGY helps the physician identify and treat the root causes of infertility problems. This type of approach is specifically addressed in the encyclical letter, Dignitas Personae.

NaProTECHNOLOGY is healthier for women and babies than popular medical approaches that do not follow Catholic teachings. Below we have compared NaProTECHNOLOGY with the effectiveness of IVF to achieve conception. We also list some conditions that NaProTECHNOLOGY is able to treat. The health benefits of NaProTECHNOLOGY are considerable.

Effectiveness of NaProTECHNOLOGY versus In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

  • Nearly three times more successful than IVF for assisting infertile couples
  • For infertility treatment, does not result in early abortions or frozen embryos
  • Multiple pregnancy rates are 10 times lower than the national average
  • While the national prematurity rate has increased every year for the last 30 years, the NaProTECHNOLOGY Prematurity Prevention Program has cut the rate from 12.1% to 7%, thereby reducing the occurrence of harmful side effects for pre-term infants.

NaProTECHNOLOGY does not mask symptoms as oral contraceptives do, but can treat or cure:

  • Infertility
  • Menstrual cramps
  • Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
  • Ovarian cysts
  • Irregular or abnormal bleeding
  • Chronic discharges
  • Repetitive miscarriage
  • Polycystic ovarian disease
  • Postpartum depression
  • Prematurity
  • Hormonal abnormalities
  • Other health problems

NaProTECHNOLOGY works with the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System (CrMS).  NaProTECHNOLOGY is closely tied to the clinical aspects of women’s health problems. Only Creighton offers a standardized system with a universal language, which is not available in other methods in the natural family planning world. However, while complementary to Creighton, NaProTECHNOLOGY is a medical and surgical treatment approach and NOT just another natural family planning method.

Please join us in praying for the success of the World Conference on the Family and the Synod on the Family and that one of the outcomes will be the proper recognition of the value of NaProTECHNOLOGY to help women, couples and families to reduce stress in the family thereby keeping families together.

“God’s image is the married couple, a man and woman, together. Not just the man. Not just the woman. No, both of them. That’s God’s image.” – Pope Francis.

Utilizing NaProTECHNOLOGY is a way to keep the family together and prevent divorce.

“I plead with you–never, ever give up on hope, never doubt, never tire, and never become discouraged.  Be not afraid.” – St. John Paul II
