If you use a credit or debit card, or do anything online, there is a good chance at least some of your personal information—birthdate, social security information, drivers license, bank passwords and more—were stolen in the July and August hack experienced by credit monitor giant Equifax. Not pretty.
Maybe you think you are safe because you subscribe to LifeLock or similar identity protection. But it’s no guarantee. So, what can you do?
Mashable posted a short video interview with two hacking experts who teach people how to hack so that they can find vulnerabilities within a system. The ten-minute video is worth the watch if you are not a hacking-savvy person (see link below).
Personally, I already use LifeLock but as a hopeful extra protection, I just changed all my passwords. As one of the cyber-security CEOs in the above-mentioned video notes, it’s wise to be paranoid when it comes to tech.
