“This movement to end abortion in this country is bigger than us and it is bigger than a weather event,” said Jeanne Mancini, March for Life. And she was right! A pending blizzard threatening two feet of snow was not enough to keep people away from the annual January 22 March for Life in D.C..
The pending weather deterred some –only tens of thousands (not the typical hundreds of thousands) showed up this year–but the crowd still stretched the length of Pennsylvania Avenue on their way past the U.S. Capitol to end at the U.S. Supreme Court.
The annual, peaceful and prayerful protest to the 43 years of legalized abortion and the more than 58 MILLION BABIES KILLED during those 43 years. January 22 is the date of the D.C. March For Life to remember the date of the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision—the Roe v. Wade decision—which overturned pro-life laws that protected unborn children in most states nationwide, instead making killing babies in abortion legal and essentially unlimited. Prior to this Supreme Court ruling, the matter was left up to each individual state.
Inspiring and hard-hitting talks by national figures and even some sports celebrities took place at this year’s rally prior to the march… See photos and Learn More>>
