China’s Communist Party recently announced they will be moving away from the one child policy that has been in place for the past 35 years, replacing it with a two child policy. The move comes as a result of the Communist Party’s concerns about China’s rapidly aging population and shrinking labor force.
“China’s new two child policy does not mean a new dawn of reproductive freedom in China,” says Mosher. “The Chinese Communist Party will remain as firmly in control of fertility as ever. Abuses such as forced abortions and forced sterilizations will continue.”
Steven Mosher will be joined at tomorrow’s hearing by Nicholas Eberstadt, Reggie Littlejohn, Jennifer Li, and Sarah Huang.
