One of The Mentors Radio guests, Valerie Weber, who is a former Las Vegas legislator, business professional and now a professor of business at a local college wrote to us yesterday with her reactions to the worst mass shooting in U.S. history, an event that was practically in her backyard. We at Catholic Business Journal invited her to continue sending on-the-ground updates as the ramifications of the Las Vegas shooting horror continues to ripple through the city in a way not accessible for those who don’t live there. Here is Weber’s first post:
I woke up to this as did others in our city. I had three classes this morning. Three of my students had friends who were shot, taken to the hospital and are waiting surgery. I took time to let people talk. This generation does not articulate their thoughts and feelings and they store toxic waste in their heads. One student is trying to overcome social anxiety; I saw the horror in her eyes; she told me this after class. Tough day. Going to City Hall tonight to pray w/ Mayor Goodman and other leaders.
God is Lord over all. Light shines in the darkness. #prayforLasVegas
